About MES
Founder-led by design.
McGovern Executive Search is an independent healthcare executive search firm built around direct accountability, long-term relationships, and sustained senior attention.
Start a Confidential ConversationIndependent, selective, and relationship-driven.
MES was built on a straightforward premise: consequential leadership searches deserve the sustained attention of an experienced executive recruiter who understands healthcare and stays directly accountable for the work.
The firm remains intentionally focused and founder-led. Long-term relationships matter as much as individual assignments, which is why more than 90% of MES business comes through executives who have previously worked with us as clients or candidates.

How MES took shape.
He establishes the predecessor practice under Contact 1, Inc. and assumes full responsibility for executive search engagements.
Steve assumes full ownership and rebrands the firm as McGovern Executive Search.
MES remains founder-led, national in scope, and deliberately selective about the searches it accepts.
